THE STORY BEHIND THIS EVENT: I was really sad that we couldn’t be together this year for the 5th Annual Back to (OLD) School Dance Party so I decided to create some shirts for you to buy to have a little piece of the dance party with you this year, THEN I realized we could still do a virtual dance, not as a replacement but just as a little bonus fun! AND since National Dance Day is September 19 I thought it was the perfect date. Then I was thinking, we need a little something extra since a virtual dance isn’t quite the same as being in person SO I decided to add a fundraiser element!

When I decided to add a fundraiser aspect to this dance I immediately thought of Beverly Boone of Milestone House. She has been a loyal fan of my annual dance party since the beginning and she is ALWAYS the first one on the dance floor every year, so it only made sense to support her non-profit!

ABOUT THE NON-PROFIT: Milestone House is a Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program in Oceanside, California.

They are licensed by the State of California and accredited by CARF International. Located in a lovely residential neighborhood, Milestone House offers children who are survivors of child abuse trauma informed care and treatment in a caring, compassionate environment. Their programs and services are person centered focused on individualized treatment, programs, and services to meet the specific needs of each child in their care. Their trauma informed treatment, programming and activities are designed to help children heal from the severe abuse and trauma they have suffered and put them on a path to reaching their goals and fulfilling their highest potential.

When you give to Milestone House, you are helping to bring positive and fundamental change to the lives of children who are among the most vulnerable in our community. For that we Thank you!

Let’s Dance + Raise Some FUN(ds)!

We will dance to the top dance hits from the 1950s to today! DJ MandyMixes will be set up in her house and will DJ just like she would normally at any event and you can dance along in your kitchen or your living room or wherever you like via ZOOM!
We will also have some fun trivia throughout the night with prizes!

COST: Minimum Donation $10.00
50% goes directly to Milestone House!

  • Party Pumper! Let’s get those feet on the dance floor! (See Mandy In Action HERE)
  • Emcee – Keep your event flowing and on time!
  • Announcements as needed (e.g., housekeeping, dinner is served, etc…)
  • 1- Hour pre-event meeting/walk-thru or phone call with assistance on agenda/event flow (optional).
  • Day-of Coordination with the venue and/or your event coordinator to make sure all is set and flowing as you envision.
  • Buffet Trivia! If you are having a buffet I can ask trivia questions to release the tables for the food line. (optional)
  • Playlist prep (1-4 hours)
  • Line/Group Dances: DJ MandyMixes can teach you and your guests line dances of your choice (optional)
  • Song Request Link for your guests to make requests before and/or during the event! (Optional – and separate from the song choices you will provide)
  • Quick & Open Communication: Get fast replies to all your questions via email and/or text from DJ MandyMixes.

CEREMONY SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Microphones – 2 wireless Handhelds (PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT have lapel microphones, only the handhelds with a stand)

  • Any other songs needed

RECEPTION SERVICES INCLUDE:

Services to be Provided: 

  • First 3 Hours of Service (if your event is longer than 3 hours please see next line item of additional per hour fees)

Happy 7 Year Anniversary to DJ MandyMixes!

Happy 7 Years to Me! Although, really I’ve been DJ-ing for friends & family for over 20 years! EEEK!!! Here’s the story behind each image. I just HAD to throw in multiple photos from 2019, because that was my best year yet (my first year fully ONLY doing my DJ biz, no other side hustles like in the past) and the most amount of professional photos I’ve had taken of me, ha!

2013 – I did my cousin’s wedding that July and then a couple weeks later I announced to the world that I was officially starting my DJ business and this photo was at my first gig, a backyard birthday party (August 24, 2013). And that hat, is the one that started it all! In case you haven’t noticed, I might have a slight obsession with hats! ha!

2014 – This was at Zymology 21 (no longer open) in Downtown San Diego for a networking group I was in with Thepulsesd Elite Networking Group

2015 -This was at the Wine Women & Wealth -California Expo/Conference at Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa

TESTIMONIAL: Hiring DJ Mandy for my wedding (3/14/20) was an absolute great decision. I was planning a wedding from across the country and DJ Mandy was working with me every step. With COVID-19 sneaking up on us, I had to make a lot of last minute changes. The night before the big day I was even making changes, but DJ Mandy was flexible and made my day perfect!

I loved how I got to give her a list of songs that I wanted to be played and during what times. The songs she filled in were a great selection. At one point she even taught my guests the moves to a line dance, which I loved that! Not a lot of my guests knew how to line dance, so showing them how to do one was very special to me!

DJ Mandy also played “Let It Go” for my little flower girls to dance to! I think this helped encourage everyone to get out on the dance floor.
As if DJ Mandy wasn’t amazing enough, I have to add that she even sent me a “safe travels” text before I flew across the country for my wedding. This just shows that she really cares about her customers.
